Origin: Transverse process of atlas, axis, 3rd and 4th cervical vertebrae
Insertion: Vertebral border of the Scapula between the superior angle and the root of spine
Function: Raises the scapula at the Scapulothoracic Joint or inclines neck to corresponding side if the scapula is fixed
Nerve: Dorsal Scapular Nerve
Artery: Descending scapular (transverse cervical) artery
